Fibre Naturally Woollen Mill (est. 2007) is a family owned and run artisan fibre-processing mill focused on alpaca located at Macclesfield just outside Melbourne in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. All the alpaca fibre we use is direct from our own Glenavon Alpaca Stud (est. 1993) herd of 70 alpacas, Precision Alpacas or sourced from other selected local alpaca studs – within 120km radius. Our 100% alpaca yarns are therefore all single origin and fully traceable.

Our passion for fibre comes from running our own farm of alpacas, llamas and camels which means we are involved with the fibre from conception through to finished yarn. We focus on small batches of natural alpaca yarn, as each fleece and therefore yarn is unique, and you are truly getting yarn from the farmer.

All the yarns we sell are produced by us on our farm. Apart from our 100% natural alpaca yarns, we also produce several other AFC licenced yarns including:
– Dyed alpaca – with the dyeing done by ourselves on farm.
– Alpaca yarn blends including Australian Possum, Camel (from our own camels), Cashmere and Merino.

We also do consignment spinning for alpaca owners all around Australia.
